Where we offer space for a Nursery, Children’s Church, and Kid’s Ministry.
A nursery is provided for babies up to age 3 during our Sunday morning services plus our Wednesday night service. Volunteers provide a safe, friendly environment so that the babies enjoy their time in the nursery. Nursery coordinator is Destiny Moore.
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Walkerville Baptist Church holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons. Children’s Church leaders are James & Bixbee Wilsey.
Welcome to our Kid's Ministry At Walkerville Kids we spread the love of God to all children while teaching them the Word of God in a way that is fun and interesting to them. Through these methods of teaching, kids will know that Jesus cards for them. They will trust Jesus, listen to and obey His Word and understand the need to follow His directions. Ages 4-Grade 5 are in our Kid's Ministry. They meet in their age appropriate class for Sunday School and on Wednesday nights. Our Kid's Ministry leader is Beth Barber.
We will provide a safe environment for children to enjoy. We want children to be safe and feel safe, and parents to rest assured that their child is well cared for while they are in the service. Parents are given a pager so that if at any time they are needed they can be immediately paged. We run regulars background checks on every volunteer. Adults are never alone with children, and there are always at least two adults with children at all times.
We want your child to have fun! Our desire is to see your child have such a good time they will be begging you to come back next week. We believe creating this fun environment for kids will help children learn more about Jesus. We use games crafts, props, and creative stories to communicate the message and we think it’s okay to have a good time at church.
We don’t want to simply entertain children, and we’re not here to babysit. We want children to learn about Jesus. Lessons about Christ and the Bible will be age appropriate and will help them understand God’s love and plan for their life.
